Greetings, friends and family,

Not much in 2014: We had a baby, but what else is new?

Before further encumbering ourselves with yet another child, Christa and I dashed out of town in March, left the kids with Christa’s parents, and spent a weekend in Santa Fe!  In May, our 3 kindies celebrated kindergarten continuation (graduating to 1st grade[1]).

June brought a family reunion to town on Brian’s side. In early August we took the kids to Colorado Springs, stayed in a hotel, and had adventures. That was the last fun fling before school started in late August. Full-day school for all 4 girls. Christa went insane with restlessness, stuck at home with 3 boys… and so she got bees.  Bees!  Maybe it was the bug museum that inspired it, or else this is a mid-life crisis:  She turned 30 in August.  30!  So old.

We enjoy Sunday nights when Brian’s parents visit and bring pizza.  His brother, Scott, and his wife, Niccole, had their second baby in August.  The kids have yet another cousin on the way:  Christa’s brother, Jarred, and his wife, Kristen, are due in February.

It’s our date night and we’re writing this in a Village Inn, walking distance from our house. Crosby, Stills, and Nash’s “Marrakesh Express” is on the radio.  Christa recently discovered Rend Collective.  Brian is in some kind of extended Bob Dylan kick: “Maggie’s Farm” and “Idiot Wind” helps him get through the workday.
